The Surah Duha (The Morning Light) is the 93rd chapter of the Quran and consists of 11 verses. This Surah holds a special place in Islamic tradition due to its uplifting message and the context in which it was revealed. The Surah was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during a period of emotional distress and revelation hiatus, serving as a form of divine consolation.
The Surah takes its name Ad-Duha from the very first word. Period of Revelation Its subject matter clearly indicates that it belongs to the earliest period at Makkah. Traditions also show that the revelations were suspended for a time, which caused the Holy Prophet (upon whom be Allah's peace) to be deeply distressed and grieved. Surah Ad-Duha can bring bountiful sustenance, riches, self-sufficiency, and benefits. Molana Ashraf Ali Thanvi ( ) writes: To locate a misplaced thing, recite Surat Ad-Dhuha seven times; the object will be found, In'Sha Allah. Alternatively, recite Surat Ad-Dhuha once and repeat the verses.
